Should You Run Meta Ads to Low Ticket Offers?

Apr 25, 2026

There's a common belief in the online business space that you can run ads to a low-ticket offer (like a $27 product) and immediately start making money.

And technically, it CAN happen. But most of the time... it doesn't. 🤪

It's not because ads don't work or your offer is bad or you're just doing something wrong. It's just how the math shakes out.

Let me break it down in a simple, honest way for you!

THE REAL MATH 🧮

If you sell a $27 product with ads, it's very common to pay $20-$30 in ad spend to get that sale.

Sometimes more and sometimes less. But that's a really normal range.

That means you might spend $26 to make $27. That's not really profitable, you're basically breaking even. And sometimes it even ends up being a small loss.

THIS IS NORMAL.

For most businesses, the goal of the first low ticket sale is NOT profit.

The Goal = Customer Acquisition

You're buying yourself a customer that could become profitable later.

WHERE PROFIT ACTUALLY COMES INTO PLAY 🤑

The profit typically happens after their first purchase.

For example: If someone buys your $27 offer through an ad but then later they buy a $97 course... NOW you're profitable.

If they hire you for a $1000 service? Now you're really profitable!

So in order to know if your current set up is something that would work to run profitable low ticket digital product ads you'll need to know 2 things:

1. AOV: Average Order Value

2. Customer Lifetime Value (LTV)

AOV (Average Order Value) EXAMPLE👇🏼

They purchase the $27 offer from your Reel, 50% buy an upsell for a $47 course, 5% of those people hire you for a $1000 service...

Your AOV = $50.50

How? You make $2,700 when 100 customers buy your $27 offer. Then 50 buyers buy the immediate $47 upsell which brings in another $2,350. Total revenue so far = $5,050. Divide that by 100 buyers = $50.50 AOV.

Which means if it costs you $30 to acquire that customer, and your AOV is $50.50, you're likely profitable because your average order value is higher than your ad cost.

LTV (Customer Lifetime Value) EXAMPLE👇🏼

Now let's add in the higher-ticket service. If 5% of the upsell buyers purchase a $1000 service from you eventually? That's 2.5 clients which = $2,500 revenue.

Add that to the previous revenue and you have $5,050 + $2,500 = $7,550.

Now divide by 100 buyers = $75.50 LTV

WHY THIS MATTERS FOR ADS ⚡️

Now imagine: You spend $55 to acquire a customer with your low ticket offer. At first glance it feels like you're losing money. But when you look at LTV, you're technically profitable!

Low ticket offers often look like break even or a small loss. But the real profit lives in long term and lifetime value of customers.

I know all these numbers and trying to figure it all out can feel a little like 😵‍💫.

So here's a super simple way to look at it:

"Your $27 offer sold through ads doesn't make you rich. But the customers it brings you can."

HOW MUCH AD SPEND DO YOU NEED FOR LOW TICKET DIGITAL PRODUCT ADS 💸

As a general rule, you will want to start with $100/day for these types of ads. Meta needs enough data to optimize your ads. That usually means getting at least a couple of sales per day. So your ad spend must be at least 2x your cost per sale. (which you can't really know until the ads are running!)

Don't get me wrong, low ticket digital product ads can be super fun!! But they do require a solid knowledge of the analytics of your business, a willingness to spend $3000+/month on ads, and typically a solid customer/client journey in order to be profitable.

WHAT ADS CAN YOU RUN FOR LESS THAN $100/DAY? 🌸

Before you panic and think you need a huge ad budget to get started, I have good news, you totally don't!

There are plenty of really effective ads you can run for $2/day, $5/day, or $10+/day. They just serve a different purpose than scaling a low ticket offer.

Think of these as supporting ads, not huge profit engines.

Here's a few great options you can start with:

- Retargeting Ads for $2+ a day

These ads show up for people who have engaged with your content, visited your website, or have joined your email list. They already know who you are so even with a tiny budget you can remind people about your offer, promote testimonials, share success stories, invite people to buy again, or even just get your highest performing content in front of the right people.

- Lead Generation Ads for $5-$20 a day depending on industry

These ads help you grow your email list with people who are interested in what you do. You're not trying to make money instantly - you're building relationships and filling your pipeline. These are one of my favorite types of ads and exactly what with do together in my Done With You Ads 1:1 Intensive!

- Engagement Ads for $3-$10 a day

These ads are designed to get more people interacting with your content. More comments, more likes, more visibility. Bonus!! Engagement ads can also trigger ManyChat automations if you use keyword comments!

- Grow Your Instagram Following with Traffic Ads for $3+ a day

Drive traffic to your Instagram and get right fit followers finding you day in and day out with just a few dollars a day!

You DON'T need a massive budget to start running ads. You just need to match your budget to the goal.
